What is a Neighbourhood Plan?
Neighbourhood Planning is a right for communities introduced through the Localism Act 2011. Communities can shape development in their areas by working together to produce a Neighbourhood Plan. The Neighbourhood Plan will contain community created policies against which development can be assessed. Although a larger town, Thame is just one example of a highly praised Neighbourhood Plan that is worth looking at to understand what a Neighbourhood Plan can include

The Neighbourhood Plan is about the local community preparing planning polices for Modbury for the period up until 2031 and beyond. It is a completely new democratic process, introduced under the Localism Act, and the Plan will carry statutory weight become part of the district wide strategic Our Plan.
