About the Parish Council
Modbury Parish Council has 12 councillors who are elected for four years. Their details are listed on the Councillors page. At the Annual meeting in May, a Chairperson is elected. The current Chairperson is Peter Watts. The Vice Chair is Margaret Middleton.
Modbury Parish Council meets on the first Tuesday of each month in the QEII Pavilion in Chatwell Lane. Meetings normally start at 7.00pm with an open forum where parishioners can ask questions and raise issues. The open forum is limited to 30 minutes unless there is a significant matter to discuss.
PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO THE COVID 19 CRISIS, PARISH MEETINGS WILL NO LONGER TAKE PLACE. There will however, where necessary, be remote meetings set up as required, so please check Agendas regularly for details of such meetings.
Agendas for the monthly meetings are posted a week beforehand on the parish notice board and on the Council Meetings page. Draft Minutes are also put on the notice board and then approved at the next meeting.

Office opening hours are usually* 2pm till 4pm on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 10am till 11am. (*The office is closed for Christmas and Easter, and when the Clerk takes annual leave).
Devon Climate Emergency:
A range of public, private and voluntary organisations from all over Devon came together on 22nd May 2019 to declare a climate emergency, and endorse the Devon Climate Declaration. A “Net Zero” task force was formed to produce a Devon Carbon Plan. Modbury Parish Council resolved to endorse the Devon Climate Declaration on 11th February 2020.

(The Parish Office does hold a very small stock of recycling sacks if you have run out already, but does not have enough room to stock enough supplies for everybody so please try to pre-empt and place your orders for replacement sacks before you have run out.)
