MARS Opening Triumph

The Modbury Association of Recreation and Sports have finally achieved one of their main aims in the opening of their new Community Sports and Recreation Pavilion on the Queen Elizabeth II Recreation Ground. At 12.00hrs on Saturday 2nd November, James Brent, the Chairman of Plymouth Argyle Football Club, declared the pavilion open. He was accompanied by representatives of the funding organisations and was introduced by the Chairman of the Parish Council and Chairman of MARS Peter Watts. After an excellent buffet lunch visitors were able to tour the facilities and the junior teams who had been having a coaching session were then able to utilise the facilities they have long deserved. The building was then available for parishioners to visit and appreciate their new community resource.
